Electrician website design: get more domestic and commercial jobs

What makes a great electrician website? Here's what you need to rank locally, build trust fast, and convert visitors into booked jobs.

Electricians rely on trust more than almost any other trade. Customers are letting you into their home to work on something that could be dangerous if done badly. Your website has to build that trust immediately, and then make it as easy as possible to get in touch.

Trust signals that matter most for electricians

  • NICEIC or NAPIT registration. Display this prominently
  • Part P certification for domestic work
  • Public liability insurance. Mention the level of cover
  • Google reviews with real names and dates
  • Photos of completed work (consumer units, EV chargers, rewires)
  • Years of experience and areas covered

Services that need their own page or section

Google ranks specific pages for specific searches. A page just titled 'Electrician Services' won't rank for 'EV charger installation Birmingham' or 'fuse box replacement Sheffield'. You need separate sections or pages for each major service: domestic rewires, fuse board upgrades, EV charger installation, PAT testing, commercial electrical, solar installation if you offer it.

EV charger installation: the fastest growing search term

Searches for 'EV charger installer [area]' have grown sharply as electric vehicle adoption increases. If you're OZEV-registered and installing home chargers, make sure this is prominently featured on your website and Google Business Profile. It's a high-value job with strong local search demand.

Commercial vs domestic: should you target both?

If you do both, separate them clearly on your site. Commercial clients search differently and make decisions differently. They want to know about capacity, insurance levels, and experience with their type of premises. Don't bury commercial work inside a domestic-focused homepage.

The electricians ranking at the top of local searches in competitive areas consistently have 30 or more Google reviews, a fast mobile site, and a Google Business Profile that's updated weekly.
